Hydraulic systems on modern tractors run harder every season as implement widths and working speeds increase. Before harvest or heavy tillage begins, a full pressure-cycle diagnostic will save you a stalled implement in the middle of a field.

Start with cylinder tolerance checks. A ram cylinder with more than 0.15mm of bore wear will begin to bypass fluid internally, robbing lift force exactly when you need it most under load. Next, inspect flow control valves for cavitation damage — the tell-tale sign is a pitted, sand-blasted texture on the valve seat, caused by air entrainment in the return line.

Fluid viscosity shifts matter more than most operators realize. Cold-morning starts followed by midday field heat can swing hydraulic fluid outside its rated viscosity band, accelerating pump wear. We recommend a seasonal fluid analysis alongside a physical inspection of all quick-disconnect seals.
